Reads & Sips #1:
Leah On The Off Beat by Becky Albertalli

Once a month, I want to share a book that I had loved and turned into my latest favourite but for a number of reasons, has not managed to get the full spotlight yet.

In January, this spotlight belongs to "Leah On The Off Beat" by Becky Albertalli: A pleased, funny, and - in a positive way - slightly frustrating love story between two bisexual girls.

It has everything you'd want, easy to read, a grumpy main character who doesn't want to admit that she is in love despite totally being in love and a bit of teen angst. In addition to this, it manages to be funny in a lot of places.

It is also mentioned it in my Autumn reading round up here.

While the original series is meant to showcast tea, I am more of a tea and coffee person so this month, I decided to go with my favourite coffee: Flores Del Café by SPAR Premium. A fair trade product and Arabic coffee with a slight sweet afterglow. On special occasions I always add a bit of milk froth - even though, it's still a long way until I can do some decent art.

Have you read Leah On The Off Beat? Do you think it's deserving of this spot?

  1. Great post. I started Simon and couldn't get into it so don't think that Leah would be for me either. It's a pity as I heard such great things.

    1. I kinda feel your pain. I couldn't get into What If It's Us? so I hadn't expected much from this book ... I live to be pleasantly surprised :)
