Glittery Top Coats For Every Season: Glitter Paint by trend IT UP

Trend IT UP may be one of the cheaper brands when it comes to nail varnish, but after trying a Channel varnish, I discovered that price is not always a good indicator for quality. So when I was on the hunt for something sparkly, I decided that I should turn towards this humble brand and get a few bottles from the "Glitter Paint" collection.

Trend IT UP Glitter Paint, No 10, No 50, No 60
This collection contains five colours, ranging from white glitter (No. 10) over different shades of red and pink (No. 20, 40 and 50) to brown with golden flakes (No. 60). Each bottle costs 2,25€ and contains 11 ml. This means that the whole collection is worth 11,25€. On top of this trend IT UP is a vegan brand.

I was most curious about the brown shade No. 60 because it could present the perfect way to highlight a classy autumn look for your nails. Then I added No. 10 as well since you can combine it with something light blue and create a winter wonderland. For good measure - and to complete the seasons - I picked a the shade No. 50 as well.

It doesn't take a rocket scientist to realise that these nail varnishes do not work on their own. They are meant as top coats and highlight a base colour.

No. 10 offers a white sparkle. It looks similar to a starry sky, and if used correctly can be used to create the illusions of snow flakes. While it is similar to a silver sparkling top coat, this one has no sliver in it. Instead it is a combination of gold and white shimmer:

No. 50 is the darkest of three pink shades. Combining it with a coral colour it creates a warm and sweet design, which reminded me a lot of Born Pretty's Nail Art Holographic Stamping Polish No 3. However, it can also be used in combination with a darker colour.

No 60 is a brown shade with golden highlights. It goes well with a dark base and I combined it with a dark brown nail varnish from Catrice.

As always, I used a base coat with these designs - while the life expectancy is also influenced by the quality of the base colour each of these designs only lasted for three days before the first crack started to show. No 10 lasted the longest with five days. Since this is a two layer problem, repairs are a bit more demanding.

The glitter is easy to remove and comes off along with the rest of the design if you apply a bit more pressure.

I am quite fond of the three bottles that I acquired because it is a simple way to brighten up a nail design that might otherwise be "meh" or when you want to add a little something trend IT UP's Glitter Paint is your friend.

  1. I like glitter paint too but yes a top ciat and base coat is too much work for me. Having said that, these shades look beautiful.

  6. I'm not normally a fan of gliter polishes because I find them such a nightmare to remove but these sound like they're easier than most. I love the effect on all three of your base coats but I think my favourite is the dark brown one. Great review, thank you!

    1. Thank you, and yes, I feel your pain about removing glitter polish. I have a silver one that is hell to remove but these come off relatively easy. ♥

  11. Thank you so much for sharing this review! These nail polishes look fab and sound great! I love seeing what unique brands exist in different countries and if I'm ever somewhere I can buy these from, I would probably pick a couple up to take home with me. It's great that it comes off easily as that's my usual pet hate about glitter polish! You're so right about price not being everything when it comes to quality!
